Super thrilled to share these preview images of Grace a collaborative comic/zine I created with Sarah Bowie a few weeks back. Damn Fine Print did an excellent two colour print job on their brand new (15-year-old) Riso machine.

The zines will be given away for free as part of the Bram Stoker Festival 2015 this weekend apparently by vampires roaming the city on bicycles, but also at the Damn Fine Print show tomorrow night in Smithfield, Dublin 7.

For those of you based in Dublin: October’s Comics Lab brings you three great speakers: Dearbhla Kelly, Spirit of Folk designer, who will share some of her process, focusing especially on her character design work for the recent festival; Clare Foley, creator of La Grande Breteche, her online comic, will show us her process with water colours, and Sophie Spendel will do an inspiring book review. We’ll be fitting in some drawing exercises too, not to mention cocktails, news and biscuits.

Book online for our supersaver price of €2.50 or pay €4.00 on the night. See you there!

This month’s poster is thanks to the very talented Eoin Marron – thanks Eoin!

The Comics Lab, facilitated and delivered by Sarah Bowie and Debbie Jenkinson, is brought to you by Stray Lines, a comics collective in Dublin, which aims to incubate talent and stimulate the comics industry in Ireland. Read more about what we do here.

Date for the diaries guys – next month’s Comics Lab is 13-October. It promises to be a good ‘un 🙂
